For dogs that are well socialized with other dogs home boarding is a great option. Unlike a doggie daycare that houses large numbers of dogs which can be overwhelming for some dogs, we take no more than 5 dogs at a time in our home in southern West Palm Beach. Unlike a typical boarding facility we provide a cage free home environment. Owners are encouraged to bring their dog’s freshly washed beds or blankets to have something familiar from home. Owners must also supply their dog’s food.
All dogs must be on a flea and tic preventative or come wearing a flea and tic collar. We do get our yard sprayed monthly for fleas and ticks but we can’t risk a dog bringing any parasites in our home. All dogs should be current on their shots and proof must be provided for ther shots and parasite prevention.
We have a fenced in back yard for the dogs to run around and play in, but they are never left unsupervised in the yard. Our four legged guests receive royal treatment including sleeping bedside in our bedroom, or sleeping in our bed! We have a king sized bed so there is always room for a few extra furry friends!
This option isn’t for every dog. They must be non aggressive around other dogs and well socialized. They should be house trained, or a pup in training may stay provided they come with a crate. If your dog has a lot of separation anxiety this may not be the best option. We must meet all potential house guests prior to boarding.
